Warfare goodies from GZG

Curse Jon from GZG,

I had no need for these figures, but with his evil mind tricks, I bought them.

Now to paint them and ready for Gruntz

The new Heavy Drop Ship, I went turbo fan rather than grav

This will be my repair vehicle

More drones, I like these little ones, I can see them being used in Black Ops or Force on Force as well

Warfare 2015

Off to Warfare 2015 for the FoGR competition, last one for the year.

This year, I'm bringing an Early Danish army, lots of foot and dodgy small goods jokes.

This is the theme

Any army between 1559-1618 (End of the Italian Wars to the beginning of the 30 Years War) with the following restrictions:
1) No Battle Troops with Musket, Musket* or Salvo capability.
2) Armies must include at least 4 BGs (GBGs counting as 2) of Foot Battle Troops. No more than half of these BGs may be Superior or Elite.
3) There must also be at least 6 bases of Foot Battle Troops per base of Medium or Heavy Artillery.
4) Commanded Shot do not count towards 2 or 3.

5) Armies must least 16 bases of mounted Battle Troops . No more than half of these BGs may be Superior or Elite.

And the Runners and Riders has been posted

Warfare 2014

Its the last FoGR comp of the year, Warfare.

This year, rather than being an open comp, it's gone themed.

The theme is 1570, no battle troops with musket, no impact pistol

So, show us your Keil!

I've gone with Ottoman Turks and heavy guns.  Not sure how it will go, I tried this style of army at Usk and spent most of my time running away.  Armoured foot don't really care about bow

Warfare 2014

One week to go for Warfare, list is in and I'm going with Ottoman Turks.

The theme is

"Regnans in Exelcis" - 15mm, 800points, 6’x4’-ish tables

Armies and the options chosen must be dated before 1570. No Battle Troops with Musket, Musket*, Salvo or Impact Pistol may be used.

My thought is, there will be lots of keils and Japanese, so, what army can I get with lots of heavy guns......

Warfare 2012

So,

last comp for the year.

I couldn't decide what army to bring, so, I brought Earl Swedish.

Hmmm, no mounted was not a good idea.

the comp was a themed comp again, with a strict date range (Any army from 1562 to 1629).

I was expecting the usual Austrian and Turk armies with lots of keils and foot.

So, this was my results

Early Danish 0-25
Early Catholic Germans 3-22
Polish 12-8 ( I think)
Knights of St John 25-0

The Swedes were great once they contacted foot, my big mistake was not to have any mounted.  This was apparent in the 2nd game where my swedes were able to beat the German Later Tercios but couldn't chace down the mounted.  This left the German light horse free to rampage thru my back line and take the baggage, artillery, commanded shot and the dragoons.

Whoops

So, now for the next comp.

Warfare 2011

So,

only a couple of weeks till the final wargaming comp for me for the year. I'm off to Reading to play in Warfare's FoGR comp. Looks like the FoGR comp could be bigger than the FoGAM comp, so, WOOT!

I'm bringing in my 30 Years War Later Germans, Imperial version.

Let's see if I've learnt anything from the last few comps.....

I've added in some more skirmishers to the mix, so, 15 battle groups, four skirmishers, two artillery, five pike & shot, two of which are superior, four superior cav units.

here's hoping!
