Campaign 2016 Results

The Central London Mediocre team returns victorious from Campaign, making up for their horrible run last year!

Dave and I took first place in our periods as well!

Was good to see a few new players, especially Izzy who is just 12 getting her first 25-0!

I didn't take many photos as the games were on a tight schedule (3 hours each) plus a quick turn around between games.

It was fun to get the 25mm figures on the table and stomp around.  The tight ECW theme did allow for several variations on each army, so, you never really knew what you were going to face.

Game 4,

Paul's Parliamentarians advance across the table.

 Game 5, Chris's Royalists advance.

Chris owns one of the Cigar Battle Box cloths so, we used that as well.  It gives the table quite a nice look and takes away from the usual dull green or carpet sheets we usually use.  Very temping to buy......

Campaign 2016

We are off to Campaign 2016 this weekend.

Tim, Dave A and I are back as Central London Mediocre and I'll be in the 25mm period this time.

Lets see if I can do better than last year.....

here are the periods

he usual current restrictions on Artillery (1 gun per 6 infantry BG bases; no fire into flank zones on deployment) and superior/average troop mix (No more superior/elite bases than average/poor for both Foot and Horse BG's) will apply.

Period 1:25mm 700pts - The English English Civil War (1641-1646) : - Early ECW Royalist, ECW Parliamentarian, Later ECW Royalist, New Model Army.
• 40mm MUs for Movement, Command Distances and Shooting,
• 1 inch MUs for Terrain, Deployment and Threatened Flank Sectors

Period 2: 15mm 800pts - Armies, Allies and enemies of France 1485-1529 – Maximillian Imperial, Trastamara Spanish, Italian States, Italian Wars Venetian, Italian Wars French, Early Henrician English, Scottish, Swiss.

Period 3: 15mm 800pts – The Battle for India 1500 – 1625: - Muslim Indian, Hindu Indian (except Sinhalese), Rajputs, Mughal, Colonial Portuguese with compulsory Hindu Allies (3 BG's minimum). (i) All lists must feature at least 1BG of Elephants

The runners and riders have been posted.  I'm a bit surprised by the other choices in the 25mm period, maybe I didn't choose the right army....

Campaign 2015

Last weekend the Central London team went off to the shopping mecha of Milton Keynes for the team competition, Campaign.

Campaign is one of our favourite comps as the themes are very tight and usually the power armies are excluded.

These were the periods for this years comp.

The Periods

1) By popular acclaim:
Last Trumpet of the Elephants, Southern Asia 1650-1698
Minimum of 4 Elephant bases, no more than 16 bases of Superior Battle Troops
Mughal
Vietnamese (May have Khmer allies)
Thai Burmese and Khmer (May have Portuguese allies)
Indonesian or Malaccan (must be an option that has Elephants),(may have Dutch allies if Johor Sultanate)
Hindu Indian (May have Dutch allies if Sinhalese Kingdom)
Muslim Indian

2) Close one but more peasants than religious fanatics in today’s war gamers:
Peasant Revolts and their Overlords. An army must have as many poor bases as it has sup/elite bases. (mob and LF count towards these totals)
Peasant Wars (Please specify your uprising)
German States 1524-1526 (may have German State allies, and use South or East Germany options)
Maximillian Imperial (no Italy options) 1514-1516
Hungarian 1514
Vasa Swedish 1542-1543 (Any bases may be downgraded too Poor to obey the poor/sup rule)
Early Danish 1534-1536

3) A tie so Umpires choice:
Friends and Enemies of Charles II and his wife 1660-1685.
Later Dutch included as although the war was fought at sea, there could have been a land battle.
Restoration British (Includes Tangiers and In Scotland options)
Later Spanish (Spain only)
Late Restoration Portuguese
North African States
Covenanting Rebels
Monmouth Rebellion
Later Dutch

I went for period 3 and took Later Dutch.

There were five teams and five games, so, the draw was nice and easy, everyone fights everyone.

We ended up 2nd place, which were very happy with.  Even better, the 2nd place prize was chocolate, so, something for the missus!

I managed three wins, a draw and a loss.

Campaign 2013 wrap up

WOOT!

We placed 2nd!

My results were pretty good, I only lost my army once, but that was against Alisdar, so, it was going to happen.  I managed to get 8 points off of him, so, have to be happy with that.

here is who I fought and the result

Rnd 1 Ottoman Turks, 13 - 7
Rnd 2 Caroline Imperialist,  7 - 13
Rnd 3 Settled Arab Stats , 6 - 19
Rnd 4 Hungarian Peasant Revolt, 15 - 5
Rnd 5 Ottoman Turks, 15 - 5

Five very good games, very tough, and well fought.  With each round only being three hours, you have to get stuck in and go for it.

Campaign 2013

Off to Campaign this weekend for another FoGR competition.

The runners and riders have now been posted.

I'm looking forward to the comp.  Campaign is always a lot of fun since its a themed comp and the periods are very tight with no clear choice of killer army.

Campaign 2012 - Wrap Up

Somehow, I managed to win my period in Division 1! Woot! The results of my game three big wins and two draws. I managed to get my three big wins on the first day which kept my team in Division 1. Central London Mediocre (my team) did pretty well for it's first outing and will be back at Derby 2012. It was impressive to see five Central London teams at Campaign. We ended up with two in FogR & FoGAM and one in DBMMMMM. I am really loving FoGR.
