Squats vs Orks Game 2

Gav and I got another game of FWC in while I was in Melbourne.

This time, I brought in a Squat land train in. They were terrible in Epic but I had high hopes of it in FWC.

The Land Train decides to make a run for it around the flank of the table, catching Orks in the open before they got into the BUA.  A flamer does wonders on inf.

The Cyclops starts advancing.  Look what I can see on the other side of the table......

What's the range again?

Close up of the Cyclops, Gav did a real nice paint job of it.

The Colossus with Squat enhanced Rhinos advance up.  Gav upgraded the Rhinos with Las Cannons, a very Squat thing to do.

The Ork Gargant catches the Colossus out in the open and teaches the Squat a thing or two about close assault.

A large chainsaw does wonders against a large target.

The Cyclops gets revenge for the Colossus and nails the Gargant with a direct shot.

This ended up a narrow win to the Orks.  A few more turns and it would have it would have been a Squat win as the land train was running around doing it's thing.

I really have to get someone else to play FWC, it's fun.

Thanks Gav for getting your figures on the table, so cool and love what you have done with the Squats and Orks.

Squats vs Orks game 1

Finally got to get a couple of games of Future War Commander when I was back in Aus.

Gav kindly supplied both armies and he ran the Orks.

We choose lots of shiny toys, I got a Colossus and a Cyclops, Gav got a Gargant and other Orky goodness.

We line up

The Squats start to advance.  Pity their command rolls were hopeless

The Cyclops lines up to fire on some hapless Ork
 The Orks under fire

The Cyclops lines up again.  "Stick your head out John!"

The Cyclops decides that close assault works better

The Orks decide that running away is a better idea

The Squats won the game.  The Colossus and the Cyclops are quite an effective team and a few cheesy rolls helped a lot.

It was great fun to get a game in of FWC, it's a fun game and plays nicely.

Now, if I can find someone in London to play it

15mm walkers

It's been a while since I posted any pictures of my various projects.

While I was at the GZG shop at Salute 2012, I picked up one of the "crustie" walkers.

Rather than doing a Crustie army, I decided to paint it in a blue scheme up for one of my human armies. I've got a few tanks and infantry from Critical Mass miniatures painted up in this scheme.

The two walkers in the other photo are from Rebel Miniatures. I picked up two of these walkers as well as a platoon of their Mars infantry. They are next on the work bench.

Hawk Wargames, 10mm sci fi hotness

At Salute this year, a new sci fi company called Hawk Wargames were showing off their new 10mm range. Since then, they have released lots of preview pictures on their Facebook page. I'm not much of a 10mm fan as I've already got my body weight in 6mm and 15mm but they are making it hard to resist. I can see myself buying some of these figures for Future War Commander. You can never have enough walkers in an army. Here is one of their alien walkers Human Flyer Human Walker Human Walker Drop Ship Alien Flyer Alien Robots

opps, I bought some squats.....

At Britcon I managed to pick up some squats and various other epic stuff.

Not going to start a Squat army though, I really wanted the Colossus, Leviathan and the moles and termites.

Anyone want some artillery and gyrocopters?

:-)

6mm Tyranids

Finally based up my Tyranid infantry, if you can call six claws on legs infantry.

I've given up trying to buy more 'nids on eBay. They are just to too expensive. There are a bunch of other 6mm vendors who do similar figures.

I'll post their details when I find them.

Imperial Guard City Troops

Finally finished the bulk of my Imperial Guard city troops for Epic/FWC.

I reckon they came up pretty good. Most of the infantry couldn't be rebased as they had been glued down very well.

Now, to find an opponenet....

6mm moon/Mars base

I picked up some domed buildings a whole ago and decided to base them up as a moon base.

The base unpainted

The base mostly painted

Just need to finish high lighting, flocking and am going to add a few vehicles. I've added a landing pad, so am going to find a cargo ship or something.

6mm power generator

Here's a couple of photos of my power generators in 6mm

I bought a few different types as they all look pretty cool and you can never have too much terrain!

Power Station 2

6mm scifi lab

Here's a couple of photos of he labs that I've been painting up. You can use these as labs or any other type of hi-rise buildings.

They were a nice model to paint up.

6mm scifi bua

My next project is to start painting up a few of my 6m. Scifi buildings for Future War, or maybe even Epic.

I picked up a few dome style buildings that I'm going to base up as a BUA.

Might base it up with a bit of a Mars type of flock.

Now to find someone to play against.

FWC, Red Guard vs Red Guard

Had a game with one of the guys from the club where we played Red Guard vs Red Guard. It was an intro game just to show off the rules to the guys at the club.
